We all get the same emails from Spartan Race each week featuring recipes and training tips, but let’s face it, we are all waiting for the day they send us a 50% off race code or a “Hey we appreciate you emptying your bank accounts, here’s a free race,” email. That hasn’t happened yet unfortunately.
In the midst of eating the same thing for the fourth day in a row, (because… meal prep), I decided to actually open up one the Spartan Nutrition emails. They looked more intriguing than the chicken breast and brown rice I was eating. I was immediately excited to try out some of the suggested recipes, and amp up my weakly meal planning.
We are in the season where the sound of the ice cream truck trumps the sound of our medals clanging together. (Or maybe that’s just me.)
Spartan put out an article recently that highlighted their picks for summer but we did some digging in the archives to find our favorites to enjoy this summer, in between training for your races. (Click on the titles for recipe details)
What we like about this recipe is that you don’t need an ice cream maker. Mix up a few ingredients and you’re all set.
We look at smoothies as Ice Cream’s cousin. It’s ice cream you can have through a straw basically. This recipe also has very few ingredients and steps, plus… peaches!!
We chose this one for four reasons: 1. Chocolate 2. Orange 3. Cherry. 4. Pie. This recipe is bit more labor intensive but it’s so worth it.
Excuse us as we drool and stock our fridge with these desserts.
